Lukashenko: We have modified warplanes to carry nuclear warheads#Beyoncé

 Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko revealed on Friday that the Su-24 warplanes have been modified to be able to carry nuclear weapons.

Lukashenko told reporters that he had previously agreed on this step with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to "Reuters".

Belarus does not have nuclear weapons but is an ally of Moscow and has allowed its territory to be used in Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

In June, the Russian President announced that his country would deliver missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads to Belarus in the coming months.

At the time, Putin said, while receiving Belarusian President Lukashenko in St. Petersburg, as reported by Russian television: "In the coming months, we will provide Belarus with Iskander-M tactical missile systems that can use ballistic or ICBMs in their conventional and nuclear versions."

Lukashenko also announced, in February, that his country would be ready to receive "nuclear weapons" in the event of a threat from the Westerners.

"If necessary, we will deploy nuclear weapons, and even super nuclear weapons, promising weapons, in defense of our territory," Lukashenko declared.

He stressed that this could happen if the "enemies and enemies" of Belarus, Russia's ally in its crisis with the West over Ukraine, took (stupid measures).

He added: "If there were no threats from unfriendly countries towards Belarus, there would be no need for nuclear weapons for a hundred years."

After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, Belarus, like other Soviet republics, abandoned the nuclear weapons deployed on its soil and agreed to return them to Russia.

The Belarusian constitution at that time stipulated that the country would remain a "nuclear-weapon-free zone", but this article was replaced in the constitutional amendments proposed by Lukashenko.

Under the revised version, this article was replaced by another article that "excludes military aggression from the territory" of Belarus.
