#Russia threatens to develop "geographical targets" in #Ukraine
Today, Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed that the geographical objectives of special operations in Ukraine have changed and are no longer limited to the Donbass region.
"The geographical objectives of special operations in Ukraine have changed from Luhansk and Donetsk to other regions," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted Lavrov as saying.
He added: "It also concerns the Kherson region, the Zaporozhye region and a number of other regions... This process is continuing and will continue."
"If the West delivers long-range weapons to Kiev, we will develop our geographical objectives in Ukraine to wider areas," the Russian foreign minister noted.
"Because we cannot allow the Ukrainian part that will be controlled by Zelensky or anyone who replaces him to have weapons that would pose a direct threat to our territory and the territories of those republics that have declared their independence," he added.
A few days ago, Russia ordered all its forces on Ukrainian territory to escalate the pace of their operations to prevent "imminent" Ukrainian attacks on the south and the rest of the areas controlled by
Russian forces, while a Ukrainian military official said that Russia was preparing for the next stage of its offensive.
Over the course of 5 months, the Russian-Ukrainian war passed through two phases. The first was Moscow's attempt to control the capital, Kyiv, and some northern cities, but it did not succeed in that, and then the second phase was during which it focused its efforts on the east and achieved great successes.
