 Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov stated that military training should become mandatory for all civil servants and parliamentarians.

"Military training should become one of the mandatory requirements for working in the public service, as well as standing for elected office in local governments, parliament, courts, etc.," Reznikov said.

He noted that Ukrainians should always be ready to defend the country, not only professional military personnel, but all citizens, adding that "everyone will have to sacrifice part of their comfort and familiar life for the sake of Ukraine," stressing that Article 17 of the Ukrainian Constitution specifies Clearly that "protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country is the duty of the entire people without exception," so all areas must be subject to "intelligent militarism."
